How Did I Stop Hurting After My Wife Cheated?
Your wife cheated on you and now you want to take away the pain that has been hurting you since then. Your heart is like surrounded by a dense thunderstorm jolting every inch of the memory of your love. Like Cupid’s arrow piercing turned bad. How do I get over this feeling of hurt?
The simplest solution only works if you’ve decided to move on without your wife. If you fill your heart and mind with other things (and not with thoughts of your marriage or your cheating wife) the pain won’t seem nearly as sharp. Eventually, you’ll stop feeling the pain altogether. It may take a little bit of time to get to the point where the pain is a distant memory but in those first few days and weeks after you find out about your cheating wife, the more active and involved you stay in other things the less you will hurt.
But no, this is not the right to do. I still wanted to work things out for our marriage. I needed to move on with her and not without her. Thank goodness to my dedication, I was able to do what I have to do – making our marriage work while easing up the pain. Focusing on my wife was the way to go but it was hard as hell just the thought of it. It wasn’t the easiest decision because it has the greatest rewards that will ever give. Truly, the harder things give you the best things in return. Now, how was I able to stop the hurting inside?
1) Accentuate the positive. You can still fill your mind with thoughts other than your wife’s cheating. In fact, if you decide to stop what you’re doing and write down a list of ten things you love about your wife every time your mind starts to dwell on the fact that she has cheated on you (and make it a different list of ten each and every time), you might find that there are many wonderful things about your wife that far outweigh the mistakes she’s made along the way.
2) Solution is the limelight – leave the problem in the dark. Problems come and go. You believe that, right? We may could have spent all those times pondering about the problem to thinking of a solution. Pain’s longevity increases as wondering a problem does the same way. Putting the self in working out a solution you both agreed will end the suffering shorter than you can imagine.
3) Similarly, no man is an island. You cannot live alone as much as you cannot make things work without the cooperation of your wife. In order for you to do this, you have to get her attention and sit down, talk, and work together. In making your marriage work and stopping the pain to reappear every now and then. You both can make it through the rain.
There are very few absolutes in life that will serve you better than this: if you are both willing to work things out and have a healthy love for one another then you definitely can get your ex back and save your marriage.
