    Thursday, October 28th, 2010

There are a lot of things you can do to make your marriage work every day. But there is only one thing you need to save it. It should be the first thing on your mind. Its sole purpose is to nurture and cultivate you marriage even more even after your partner has cheated. For all you know, this is easier said than done, but you have to think that this is to free your mind from negativity.

The key to saving your marriage is

    Forgiveness

There is a lot of risk when second chances are given to those who have cheated on their spouse. Hesitation will come block your way to redemption but you will be able to overcome it depending on the actions you are about to show to your partner in the coming days of the process.

Who do you need forgiveness from?

Ask for forgiveness from your partner.

Be ready for the questions your partner will throw at you.

You cheated and you need forgiveness for cheating but there are other things in the relationship that you’ve done wrong.

Cheating can’t happen overnight. Maybe it is a result of the things gone wrong along the way. But this is not the right time to blame each other of what happened. This is the time to think of ways on how to mend broken hearts and fix all issues that caused you to cheat.

That being said, you were ultimately the one who cheated and you’re going to need a good deal of forgiveness for the act itself if nothing else.

    Forgive yourself.

This would be a great time to think about what you have done to inflict pain on others and the results of these actions.

A cheater must accept his faults, take all responsibility of his actions and shouldn’t take the blame from others. Remind yourself that you’re only human, not perfect and can be tempted when things are not going too good at home. In order to save your marriage, accept that fact that mistakes can be made anytime and can strike at anyone.

    Grant your spouse pardon.

Forgiving your spouse for all the reasons why it led you to cheating. The two of you should sit down and talk about your differences.

Time heals all wounds. Give yourselves all the time that you need to chill from hatred and sorrow from the situation that had aroused. You can’t have forgiveness overnight just because you’re effed up. If you really want to save your marriage, do the things that would redeem yourself from all the heartaches that you have given to your partner while waiting for the glory.

It is possible to get your husband back even after cheating. But until you forgive yourself, forgive your ex, and get forgiveness from your ex, that isn’t likely to happen. Check here for free reprint licence: How Can Forgiveness Save Your Marriage.
